On Tuesday, March 18th, Pook & Pook, Inc. is holding its first Decorative Arts Sale of 2014. The sale includes an assortment of furniture, art, and decorative accessories. The 1035 lots in the upcoming auction include stoneware, toleware, papier-mâché, woodenware, carvings, clocks, pewter, redware, porcelain (such as spatter, majolica, Staffordshire, etc.), art pottery, decoys, metalware, mirrors, jewelry (brooches, rings, bracelets, pins, earrings, watches, and necklaces), glass, folk art, silver, currency, watercolors, pen and ink drawings, fraktur, prints, etchings, sculpture, carvings, chests of drawers, sewing stands, lamp stands, chairs, blanket chests, corner cupboards, benches, cabinets, bookcases, jelly cupboards, farm tables, shelves, secretary desks, dining tables, commodes, apothecary cabinets, feed bins, wash stands, drysinks, Dutch cupboards, slant front desks, high chests, needleworks, samplers, coverlets, quilts, carpets. Over one hundred items from the collection of Kristina Barbara Johnson, Princeton, New Jersey, are offered in the March sale. Over fifty lots from the Collection of Captain Hall Jackson Tibbits (1797-1872), from Long Island, New York are up for auction at the March sale as well. The collection includes a number of China trade items the captain brought back with him from his trips across the Pacific. Pook & Pook, Inc. is celebrating 30 years of auctions in 2014! For the entire year we are giving out free catalogues to any customer attending the auction who is 30 years old or younger.
