Joel L. Malter Numismatic Library
The Joel L. Malter Library is a world renowned assemblage of numismatic reference works, with many of the rarest and most sought after titles. The first half of the auction, session 1 (lots 1 – 1032) begins with a nice run of Antiquarian books from the middle 17th century up until the mid-19th Century. The next few sections cover general books on Greek and Roman coins and coin hoards. Next we have successive sections, which feature most of the important and sought after titles in ancient numismatic literature. The auction will be in two sessions, the first June 4th, 10 AM, (lots 1 – 1032), and Monday, June 5th,11 AM, (lots 1022 – 1694). Session 1: Antiquarian books, General Numismatic, General Greek, Ancient Greek (plus specialized sections), General Roman, Roman Republic, Roman Empire, Late Roman Empire, Roman Seals and Contorniates, Byzantine, Specialized Byzantine & Dark Ages, Byzantine Seals, Medieval, England and Colonies, France and Colonies and Spain and Colonies. Session 2 will commence the next day. Session 2: Asian Numismatics, Indian & Islamic Numismatics, Misc. Foreign, Medals, Orders & Tokens, United States, Currency – Bank Notes, Trade Tokens & Ephemera, Odd & Curious, Scales & Weights, Forgeries, Dictionaries, Numismatic Literature, Festschrift (Studies), Journals & Periodicals, Auction Sales Catalogues & Bulk Lots of Auction Catalogs.
