Including an elaborately engraved shallow brass basin and a traditional scribal divit comprising a long pen case with attached hinged inkwell. The basin is densely worked with an eight-point geometric medallion surrounded by interlaced arabesques, geometric borders and a scalloped rim. The divit is similarly engraved with scrolling vegetal ornament, interlace and knot motifs, the attached inkwell retaining its hinged cover. The ornament and construction are consistent with Ottoman Turkish metalwork traditions, likely 19th to early 20th century.

Size: basin approximately 9.5 in. diameter; divit approximately 7 7/8 in. long.

Provenance: Property from an important private collection, assembled by a dealer and collector over more than six decades.

Condition: General age-related wear, rubbing, scratches, oxidation and areas of discoloration to the brass. Hinges and moving elements show wear; scattered minor dents and surface irregularities. See photographs.
