Domingo, Netrebko and Villazón made their most famous collaborative recording at Berlin's open-air Waldbühne amphitheater on 7th July 2006 in front of a roaring crowd of 20,000 fans just two days before the 2006 FIFA World Cup Final. The recording was released worldwide by Deutsche Grammophon as The Berlin Concert: Live from the Waldbühne, and became one of the most commercially successful classical concert recordings of the 2000s
