This English black lacquer tea caddy is the kind of piece that makes a shelf look instantly collected. Decorated with parcel-gilt chinoiserie scenes-figures, gardens, and architecture-its warm gold detailing pops beautifully against the deep black ground.

Tea caddies like this were made to hold loose tea, but today they're just as at home styled on a bar cart, tucked into a bookcase vignette, or used to store small essentials on a desk. The surface wear and age-crazing are exactly what you want here: proof it's lived a life, not a factory-fresh reproduction.
