It's not often to come across a fine example of a solid English Oak butter dish, finished with silver plate mounts to both top and bottom with a quality screwed construction. The handle folds or stands for display, and the lid is finished with a round finial.
The interior has the original liner, and the underside of the lid is marked D & A for Daniel and Arter of Birmingham England and EPNS for Electro-Plated Nickel Silver.
