A stunning example of 19th-century British design, this antique Wedgwood biscuit barrel features rich cobalt blue jasperware adorned with classical white bas-relief figures in the neoclassical style. The piece is topped with its original silver-plated lid and handle, both crafted by renowned Sheffield silversmiths James Dixon & Sons.

The lid bears the EPNS mark along with the "J D & S" maker's stamp, confirming its quality silverplate construction. The impressed "WEDGWOOD" mark on the base (without "England") dates the piece to circa 1870-1890. The silverplate and jasperware remain in beautiful vintage condition with age-related wear and some fine cracking in the applied relief, common in early examples of this type. No strucural issues.
