At Turtle & Crane, we turn the past into stunning decor for today. This pair of late 20th century Asian side tables is carved in deep red-brown rosewood, entirely in a lotus pattern. Lotus leaves wrap each corner and run down the legs as stems, ending in leaf-cup feet. The apron between the legs is pierced and carved with lotus blossoms, buds, and curling stems, so light passes through the base. A mitered rosewood frame holds an inset marble top, and the stone's black, white, and gray veining reads like an ink-wash landscape.

Each table measures 15" wide, 15" deep, and 18" high, with a square top. The pair works beside a sofa, as a low bedside table, or as a stand for a plant or a lamp in a parlor. The carving suits Chinoiserie, Palm Beach Regency, and Grandmillennial rooms, in the style of Tony Duquette and Dorothy Draper. The tables are rosewood in a burnt umber tone, and the marble is original to each frame.
