Description

A Beautifully carved old field used backrest or stool with very precise incised linear designs, openwork cut outs and classic form. Likely the property of a nobleman or even a chief, as the design and quality are excellent , with old animal hide wrapping on the leg of the stool.Ngombe peoples, DRC/ Congo, central Africa. Provenance: Ex collection Margaret and Lou Wells. Size: 15.5 inches long or wide x 8.25 inches deep. Height on quality custom display stand: 21.5 inches tall.
