Two Rockingham-Glazed Yellow Ware Pitchers, Second Half 19th Century. The first Gothic Revival and surrounded by borders of stylized leaves, horseshoe and trefoil arches, scalloped panels and vinery; the second possibly J.E. Jeffords and Co., Philadelphia City Pottery, Philadelphia, PA (1868-1915), molded on each side with a hunter and hounds within a wreath of suspended game.First pitcher: H: 7.5 in. (to top of handle), W: 7.375 in., Diam: 5.5 in.Second pitcher: H: 9.25 in., W: 8.5 in., D: 6.75 in. (widest portion of body)Exhibition: An example identical to the second pitcher, described as possibly by J.E. Jeffords & Company, is in the Philadelphia Museum of Art, accession number 2008-25-51, gift of Jay A. and Emma Lewis.
