Group of Tiffany & Co. Bronze Furniture and Architectural Casting Molds, Early 20th Century. Most in Art Deco style and in various geometric and aquatic patterns, comprising molds for plates, panels, door panels and feet. Also included in this lot is a sterling silver plate, marked with a letter "P" within a circle, "PETER MULLER-MUNK" and "HANDWROUGHT/ STERLING SIVER/ 925-1000." He emigrated to America in 1926 and began his career as a metalworker at Tiffany & Co. in New York from 1926-1928. He exhibited his work at the 1928 Macy's exposition, established his own silver studio in New York in 1929 and exhibited at several Metropolitan Museum shows in 1929 and 1930. However his interest in design led him to opportunities in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and in 1938 he founded one of the most important American industrial design firms of the day, Peter Muller-Munk Associates, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.Provenance: Roman Bronze Works Cache- Remaining inventory from the Roman Bronze Works Foundry, New York, including storage and restoration rooms, and comprising many models and casts; Estate of Patrick Roberts, founder of the American Museum of Industry and Technology, New Preston, Connecticut; Present OwnerPatrick Roberts (1950-2021) was a collector and preservationist of industrial artifacts, as well as American fine art. He was the founder and director of the American Museum of Industry and Technology located in New Preston, Connecticut. The museum was a non-profit organization, essentially a private holding entity for Robert's extensive collections with assets estimated at over 9.3 million in 2016. Upon his death, his large estate not only included specialized industrial machinery and equipment, but 19th and early 20th century works of art by artists such as John Marin and Edward Hopper.
