German World War II SA (Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch) Early Model 1933 Service Dagger, Josef Munch Stahlwarenfabrik, Brotterode, Thuringia. The dagger with 8.75-inch (22 cm) nickel-plated magnetic steel blade, acid-etched on the obverse of the blade "Alles fur Deutschland" ("Everything for Germany") in Fraktur script, the reverse ricasso with oval maker's mark for "JOSEF MUNCH BROTTERODE," the blade mounted within a nickel-silvered upper crossguard marked with eight notches - four at the top and four at the bottom - the reverse of the crossguard marked with a district or unit stamp "FP" possibly for Feldpolizei (Field Police) or misinterpreted mark for "FR" for Franken (Franconia), dark brown lacquered wood handle inset on the obverse with a German silvered national eagle clutching a swastika within a wreath, and on the same side in the pommel an SA insignia, the original scabbard in brown anodized metal with all four screws and nickel-plated fittings to throat and tip, including a ring suspending a leather hanger.
