PROMETHEUS (2012) - SFX Engineer Ampule - An SFX Engineer ampule from Ridley Scott's Prometheus. The Prometheus crew found cavernous rooms filled with ampules containing terraforming biochemicals.

This is one of 12 large-sized ampules created for special effects inserts in which the containers leaked their dangerous chemicals. Constructed from resin, this version has internal fluid lines to allow the flow of the black liquid, which would be inserted through a hole at the base. For SFX use, a modified lid with a recessed top allowed for a pool of the fluid to sit while a speaker, previously installed within, animated it harmonically.

Each ampule, including this one, was intentionally distressed by production with black traces of biochemical fluid still present down the sides. A non-SFX version of the ampule's lid is also included. The ampule exhibits chipping to its finish. Dimensions: 30.25" x 11" x 11" (77 cm x 28 cm x 28 cm)
