PETER H. BELL (1812-1898) American soldier known for his role during the battle of Buena Vista and later the governor of Texas from 1849-1853, and Member of Congress, serving from 1853-1857. Partly-printed D.S. ‘P H Bell’, 1p. sm. folio, Coryelle County, Jan. 24, 1849, a land grant, signed at conclusion. Engrossment very faint, receipt affixed to top right corner, prominent folds with two tears at intersections. Good condition with a large, if not light, signature.
