(1837-1919) Union provost marshall, District of Columbia, defended Lewis Powell (Payne) and George A. Atzerodt in the Lincoln assassination trial. War-date partly-printed D.S. as Commander of the 1st Squadron of the 4th Penn. Regt. Vol. Cavalry, 1p. extreme oblong 4to., ‘Camp Margaret Near Washington’, Feb. 15, 1862. A ‘Consolidated Morning Report’ for the regiment noting Doster as the C.O., listing soldiers present and absent. Boldly signed and very good.
