
Description
(1850 - 1912) Frontier lawman employed by ‘Hanging Judge’ Parker, Thomas was a deadly lawman who, with Bill Tilghman, cleaned up ‘Hell's Half Acre’, killed Bill Doolin, shot Ned Christie, and arrested over three hundred outlaws in a three year period. Partly-printed D.S. ‘Heck Thomas’ in the text, 1p. legal folio, ‘Western District of Arkansas’, July 30, 1889. A statement for expenses related to the arrest of Lincoln Gooding and Bob James on the count of assault, including food, mileage and pay to the guard. Trimmed slightly at bottom, else fine.
