Description

Group of four engravings after compositions by Peter Paul Rubens, including two dramatic Baroque scenes of The Fall of the Rebel Angels, engraved respectively by Lucas Vorsterman I and Pieter Soutman, the Virgin and Child attended by Saint Joseph and Saint Anne engraved by Schelte Adamsz. Bolswert, and “Lucius Annaeus Seneca”, engraved by Cornelis Galle I. Likely later impressions, probably 18th century, on mounts (some with pencil annotations,) Some damage, all in as-found condition. Largest mount: approx. 29" x 23". Provenance: The Collection of David B. Lawall.
