Description
Exceptional large early flies tied by Edward R. Hewitt (1866-1957), the lauded author of numerous angling books, dedicated conservationist, innovative fly tyer, and with his 1918 purchase, the self pronounced "dean" of a famous 4 1/2 mile stretch of the Neversink River at Claryville, New York. Circa 1915-1930, both in excellent condition. One of the greatest contributors to the history of American fly fishing, Hewitt flies of this age and condition are rarely offered for sale. Returning to Lang's from a previous auction.
