Exceptional large early flies tied by Edward R. Hewitt (1866-1957), the lauded author of numerous angling books, dedicated conservationist, innovative fly tyer, and with his 1918 purchase, the self pronounced "dean" of a famous 4 1/2 mile stretch of the Neversink River at Claryville, New York. Circa 1915-1930, both in excellent condition. One of the greatest contributors to the history of American fly fishing, Hewitt flies of this age and condition are rarely offered for sale.
