This scarce early device is stamped Pat. Apl'd For, being one of several variations known by the Brooklyn, NY inventor, Paul B.T. Berner. Uncleaned, slight bend to the central hook, wear and tarnish. Originally from the Dr. Thomas Langworthy Hook & Harness Collection - desirable and very hard to find.
