Large 18" bobber finished in bright "Easter" colors with pastel green, orange, yellow, blue and lavender stripes, one of the rarest of the custom color combinations to come from the Ideal factory, and retaining its matching top cork ball. In excellent condition, with a few stripes lacking crisp edges. Dating from the 1950's, this important piece from the Ideal Fishing Float Company of Richmond, Virginia, was originally purchased from a long time employee of the company. The gentleman was employed for decades as a float painter, over the years occasionally painting examples for himself, using stock and custom colors, and producing floats in non-catalog patterns and sizes, such as this example. The original bobbers made by this individual are some of rarest known and certainly the most coveted by serious collectors.
