
Description
1) An eastern Europen sword maesuring 36" overall with an etched blade measuring 31 3/4". The etching in clude various miliatary and foliate motifs along with writting that may be Greek. The simple iron hilt has an animal on the front langet. The grip is wire wrapped leather. The scabbard measures about 36" and is made from a raw hide with some fur still attached. CONDITION: heavy wear throughout with notable oxidation on the blade and hilt. Grip is worn as is the scabbard. 2) Likely a European saber measuring 38" overall. The blade cannot be removed from the scabbarrd likely due to oxidation. The hilt appears be white brass or nickel silver with a lion head pommel. Wood grip and hide scabbard. CONDITION: as stated, the sword cannot be removed from the scabbard. Hilt is misshaped and the grip may be a replacement. 3) Broadsword possibly of North African origin measuring 40 1/2 inches overall and the blade cannot be removed from the scabbard. The hilt is iron with a fish skin grip. The scabbard iron bound leather with a white, blue, and red wool wrap. CONDITION: unknown as the sword cannot be removed from the scabbard. Hilt and scabbard appear solid. 4) A Reproduction US M1860 style Cavalry saber measuring 43" overall with a plain blade. Brass hilt with wire wrapped leather grip and a steel scabbard. CONDITION: lightly used. (02-25640/BF). NON-GUN. $400-600.
