Description
An Imperial Japanese WWII Award Sake Cup Lot of 3 in good to very good condition. Military-awarded Japanese WWII sake cups, bottles, and trays were commonly presented as commemorative or honor items to soldiers, veterans, military units, and patriotic organizations during the Showa era. These pieces were often decorated with Japanese flags, rising sun motifs, unit names, military slogans, branch insignia, cherry blossoms, and kanji inscriptions honoring service, enlistment, discharge, victories, or special military events. Sake cups were frequently given as personal keepsakes, while bottles and trays were often used for ceremonial drinking, farewell gatherings, or presentation sets. Many were privately purchased or unit-sponsored rather than official government awards, but they still reflect Japan’s wartime military culture and the strong connection between ceremony, patriotism, and service.
