Set against an almost pure white field of falling snow, a single dark bird in flight becomes the image's restrained yet striking focal point. The drifting snow not only defines the environment but also gives the scene a palpable sense of time, turning the fleeting moment of flight into one of endurance, passage, and solitude. Through an austere composition, the work evokes the stillness and force of winter nature, while its expansive negative space heightens the lone creature's fragile yet resolute presence.
Pu Feng is a Beijing-based photographer and the founder of the Chinese Young Documentary Photographers Alliance "City Pickers." He is a member of the China Photographers Association, a member of its Youth Photography Committee, and a delegate to the 10th National Congress of the China Photographers Association. He has served as a juror for the China Youth Photography Exhibition and the National Farmers Photography Exhibition, and as a recommender for the XU Xiaobing Documentary Photography Exhibition and the "Boqi Cup" China Creative Photography Exhibition. He has twice received the Documentary Collection Award at the XU Xiaobing Cup National Photography Exhibition, won First Prize in the Nature category of the China division of the National Geographic Global Photography Contest, and received multiple Gold and Silver Lens Awards in Chinese press photography. His works have been exhibited at the Daegu Photo Biennale, Pingyao International Photography Festival, and Beijing International Photography Week.
