Kim MacConnel (American, b. 1946) is a contemporary painter and sculptor who emerged as a leading pioneer of the Pattern and Decoration movement during the 1970s. His studio practice uses bright colors, stylized geometric structures, and complex textile compositions to challenge the conceptual boundaries of high-art abstraction and domestic ornamentation. His work has been featured in multiple Whitney Biennials and is held in the permanent collections of major museums worldwide, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.
