Irwin Touster (American, 1921–2017) was an painter, sculptor, ceramicist, and cartoonist who served for nearly two decades as Chairman of the Department of Fine Arts at the Parsons School of Design. Emerging in post-war New York, his multidisciplinary practice spanned expressive figuration, architectural ceramic installations, and experimental drawing media, balancing intensive studio work with educational guidance for generations of emerging practitioners.
