Description
This is a collection of four pieces of Parian porcelain manufactured by Belleek Pottery in Ireland, featuring the traditional Shamrock pattern. The set is characterized by a molded basketweave texture and hand-painted green shamrock sprigs, accented by branch-form handles and feet. The interiors of the hollowware pieces feature a pearlescent iridescent glaze. The group includes a double-handled cake or bread platter, a teacup, a matching saucer, and a three-footed cauldron-style bowl. The items date from two different production periods based on the factory backstamps. The teacup and saucer are marked with the Belleek third black mark (circa 1926-1946), featuring a round tower, wolfhound, and harp above banners for BELLEEK and FERMANAGH IRELAND, with a circular mark containing DEANTA IN EIRINN and REG No 0857. The handled platter and footed cauldron feature the Belleek sixth mark (third green mark, circa 1965-1980), which includes a registered trademark symbol next to the harp and IRELAND in the banner. Handled Platter: Approximately 10 inches wide handle to handle. Teacup: Approximately 2 inches high. Saucer: Approximately 5.5 inches in diameter. Footed Cauldron: Approximately 2 inches high. The collection is in good vintage condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or signs of repair. The painted decorations and iridescent glazes are well-preserved. Minor shelf wear is present on the unglazed underside foot rims.
