Description
WWII German NSDAP pennant. Kreisleitung Einbeck IH Political official shield or podium banner. Kreisleitung: This was the county or district level leadership office of the Nazi Party (NSDAP). It acted as the primary administrative authority over local towns and villages, enforcing party ideology, organizing regional logistics, and screening citizens for political reliability. Einbeck: The specific geographic district seat in Lower Saxony, Germany. The Kreisleitung Einbeck was actively led at the end of the war by Kreisleiter Heinrich Brasche, who infamously fled the town secretly on April 8, 1945, right before American forces entered. "I.H." stands for Im Hause (In-house / Internal). This banner would have been located directly within the district headquarters building. Very scarce. Condition shows wear and apparently the GI that brought this home opened the top seam of the double sided banner. Still a fine piece.
