Golden Plover Pair
Matapoiset, MA, c. 1880

These decoys display gold and white feathering and highly pronounced breasts. According to an early Massachusetts decoy historian, this pair is of Mattapoiset origin and was hunted over by President Grover Cleveland.
Original paint with even gunning wear. One has a tight bill crack and the other has a slight grain lift under the bill.
