Description
1871 letter from Portland Oregon, from A.H. Hickerson, aid to Gen. Cook (1870's Indian Wars). The poem on the back of the postcard is from early 1900's, by G.B. Baldwin who was a pioneer who went west in the 1850's for the California Gold Rush. In 1860's he traveled to Alaska, then settled in Idaho after the end of the civil war. His photo is the opposite side of the postcard
