Lovely framed antique copper plate print of Prunus cerasus (sour cherry). This print came from the 2nd edition Florea Daneca from 1818 as note on back depicts. The illustration belongs to the Flora Danica encyclopedia, a monumental Danish botanical atlas published between 1761 and 1883. It contains 3,240 hand-colored copperplate prints cataloging wild plants native to the Danish kingdom. This is where Royal Copenhagen got the designs for its Flora Danica Botanical dishes
