Description

18th century charger (large platter). Features a polychrome palette of cobalt blue, iron red, copper green, and antimony yellow. The design includes an exotic bird in awatery landscape. The artwork is intentionally fluid and painterly, showing the fast, confident hand of the artisan. Dia. 13 3/4in (35cm)

Condition

Flaking of the glaze on the edges (fritting). Some chips observed around the edge.
