Description
Includes 1 large, ovular, late 18th century plain-rimmed pewter dish by Joseph Spackman and Company, who were London pewterers from circa 1785. The first owners' initials are engraved on the rim. Comes with a label indicating that the company held the authority to patent the machine that could make the oval pewterware, authorized by King George 111. The attached tag also indicates that details can be found in serial 4443 of "OLD PEWTER" by Howard Cotterell. Also includes 1 round pewter platter with no visible stamps, and 1 meat platter dated to 1740.
