Description

A carved stone figure of the Immaculate Conception. Continental, probably 19th century. Depicted standing with hands joined in prayer upon a crescent moon and supported by cherub heads, the Virgin shown in flowing drapery in thetraditional iconography of the Immaculate Conception. 12 1/4" x 4 1/2". Condition: Cracks, abrasions, loss, missing crown element, residue, and base is broken.
