Description
A silver ecclesiastical statue crown. Probably Continental, late 19th to early 20th century. Marked ?B / .800? and ?GM.? The openwork crown is richly decorated with scrolling foliate ornament, floral motifs, and simulated gemstones, surmounted by a gilt orb and radiant star finial. Likely made for the adornment of a devotional statue of the Virgin or a saint. 24.00 ozt. 12" x 9 1/2". Condition: Repair to sunburst and one stone soldered in place.
