Very large vintage Turkish Suzani is heavily hand-embroidery with organic brown, pink and yellow colors silk threading.
Beautiful Uzbek hand stitched designs with silk in traditional patterns beige, browns and pink.
Could be hang on the wall, or used as a bedspread.
Overall good condition for its age. Circa 1040s 1950s.

They are mostly large silk and cotton embroideries that are used to to decorate interiors of the houses .
Suzanis were also an important part of a girl's dowry. Each region in Uzbekistan had their own design pool and style. Tashkent ones are far different from the Bukhara ones or Shahr-i Sabz ones. They embroidered them for different utilitarian purposes, as coverlets for the small law tables, as covers for the beddings stacked into the niches during the day.
