The Solaris plate by Tapio Wirkkala for Iittala is one of the more recognizable pieces in the Finnish glass canon, with a deeply textured concentric ring pattern radiating from the center that evokes both tree rings and the surface of the sun. The texture catches light beautifully and gives the clear glass a sculptural quality that works as well on display as on the table.
