Description
Offering a 1950's vintage Red Wing Pottery teapot, specifically Lotus in the Chartreuse color.
The Lotus design was produced between 1949 and 1957 and is highly collectible for its sleek Mid-Century Modern "Aladdin lamp" silhouette.
Maker: Red Wing Pottery: Lotus Pattern- part of the Concord dinnerware line
Color: Chartreuse (a vibrant, greenish-yellow)
Lid Pattern: Features a stylized floral "Lotus" or "Magnolia" motif
This Red Wing Pottery teapot is approximately 75 years old.
The vibrant Chartreuse color seen here was primarily manufactured starting in 1947 and remained popular through the mid-1950s. The entire Lotus line was officially discontinued by 1957, making this one of the final patterns produced in this specific shape.
Even without the label as these stickers often were washed off, this piece is easily identified by its distinct physical characteristics:
The Spout: The "Aladdin lamp" style with that specific elongated, upturned curve is a signature of Red Wing's Lotus/Concord shape.
The Glaze: The "Chartreuse" (greenish-yellow) and "Lotus" (floral) pattern on the lid was a specific combination produced by Red Wing during that era.
The Handle: Note how the handle connects low on the body; this "low-profile" ergonomic design was a hallmark of their Mid-Century Modern transition.
12" long x 6" wide x 5" high
Condition notes:
No chips, there is one slight crack in lid and crazing-crazing is often due to temperature hangers from use and age.
*Please note additional Lotus serving-ware available at Good Earth Vintage-Additional plates, and a lidded casserole.

Alterations: Original Condition Unaltered
