19th Century English Bird Engravings by Alexander Francis Lydon, Set 12

Description

Curated set of twelve 19th century English ornithological engravings from Rev. F. O. Morris' "History of British Birds," illustrated by Alexander Francis Lydon and printed by Benjamin Fawcett between 1875 and 1885. Origin labeled on verso of each framed work for provenance.

The collection features coastal and seabird studies including terns, skuas, curlews, shearwaters, and yellow-shanks, all rendered in delicate original hand coloring with refined naturalistic detail.

Original printed titles and plate numbers remain visible below each engraving.
professionally presented in matching solid wood frames with embossed linen mats, archival acid-free mounting, and non-reflective museum plexiglass glazing.

Soft tonal palette and cohesive subject matter make the collection exceptionally well suited for coastal, European, traditional, and contemporary interiors.
