Chinese Gilt Foo Dogs Candle Stands 19th Century - A Pair of 2

Description

Carved male and female foo dogs with gilt surfaces from China, 19th century. The top plateaus have peg holes for attachments or candle holders. Heavy solid wood carving in thick wood to support weight and to balance the figures. A male dog with the ball, and the female with a puppy. Elaborate shaggy manes and tails.
19th century with red color showing through the gilt details.
The dimensions are 8.5" wide, 4.5" deep, and 9.25" tall.
