Description
A pair of 19th century French faience wall pockets, or a bénitiers, or holy water fonts, used for devotional blessings upon entering or leaving the home. Commonly used today as a bud vase for flowers or as a decorative item. Hand-painted in beautiful vivid colors of blue, green, yellow and orange on white ground and decorated with a man and woman in traditional dress and decorated with flowers. In good condition with minor glaze loss. Made by HB Quimper with mark on back. Circa 1890-1905.
