Set of Three Antique Roe Deer Trophies on Carved Plaques Germany ca. 1900

Antique set of three Black Forest roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) trophies mounted on richly carved wooden plaques with traditional oak leaf motifs. The antlers display natural texture and patina, highlighting their age and character, shot arround 1900. Crafted in a classic Black Forest style, they make striking rustic wall decorations.

Trophies are mementos from the hunted game, which are kept by the huntsmen as a souvenir or decorative item. For many centuries it was a tradition to collect trophies. Nowadays exactly these are becoming more and more popular as decorative highlights in hunting lodges.
