This is a very special and rare item. Roberto Clemente was without question and with no equal, one of the greatest players ever to step onto a field.
There was just something special about him. He was kind, caring and had this great smile. But as we all know, that does not make greatness in Americas game. This is where Clemente shined.
Multiple World Series, 15 time All-Star. 12-time Gold Glove winner, NL MVP, World Series MVP and 4-time leading batter in the National League.
But as God planned it, Clemente hit his 3000 hit in the final game of the 1972 season, only to be killed in a plane Crash helping which he had chartered for a flight to take and deliver emergency relief goods for the survivors of a massive earthquake in Nicaragua.
MLB waived its 5-year rule after retirement to be nominated and elected into the HOF. Clemente was elected the following year, an honor so deserving of such a gift to the game.
This is a store model H&B bat, Clemente's personal model with his name on the barrel. The value though, just look to the left of his printed signature, you have a near flawless signature in ink of Clemente. I would grade this a solid 8/9....it is that nice. Sure to be one of the highlights in your collection and a bat that needs to be proudly displayed!
