Description

INDIANA DATED DOUBLE WEAVE COVERLET, dark blue wool and natural cotton, two joined panels, center featuring a geometric pattern, all four sides with floral and foliate border, bottom edge with fringe. Each corner with courthouse logo and "1856" date. Craig family, Decatur Co., Floyd Co., and Washington Co., IN; or the partnership of James "Canada Jim" Craig and Matthew Young, Washington Co., IN (active 1852-1864). Dated 1856. 76" x 90" with fringe.

Condition

Very good to fine overall condition with some toning and stains, top edge with wear and tears, a few other spots of tears along edges, a few losses to wool, some losses to fringe, center seam possibly mended.
