An authentic Model LC4 lounge in leather and chrome. The iconic design by Le Corbusier in collaboration with Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand.

The authentication and dating of this model can be determined by several factors. It is branded by the Cassina logo with the folded "M" motif on the base and on the chrome frame as pictured. The logo marks the launch of the Cassina Maestri Collection which began in 1973. In addition the frame is incised with "LC4 28236" as was the manner at Cassina during the 70's - later in the 80's the company included the addition of "Le Courbusier" in script to the numbering system. The simple form of numbering denotes the earlier 70's production.

This example is in the original black leather with brown bolster cushion. The soft patina of the leather now with undertones of brown from wear to the black dye.

Condition Notes: Seven of the support straps for the cushion have been replaced by later straps. Some of the original straps are stretched from use. The leather is in good condition with rubbing to surface of the black dye. Therefore the brownish tones of the leather emerge creating a slightly softer black.
