An late 18th century oak striking longcase clock William Ingleby, Holywell The case with flat top and simple frieze supported by two Doric topped columns to a concave throat moulding, the long trunk door framed by a pair of inset Doric columns, terminating in a moulded base on square plinth and raised on carved wooden feet. The 12 inch brass dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with floating fleur-de-lys half hour markers, the matted centre with engraved decoration, signed on a silvered name plaque William Ingleby, Holywell, with calendar aperture and subsidiary seconds dial with silvered Arabic chapter ring and blued steel hands, framed by cast brass spandrels to each corner. The two train movement with anchor escapement, striking the hours on a bell mounted above, currently ticking and striking. 2.1m (6.9ft) High.
