The large panel has been cradled. There is a vertical abrasion to the upper center with associated inpainting. There are various old repaired splits in the panel, some of which are now slightly open. There is an uneven and discolored varnish layer as well as surface dirt and a number of old discolored retouchings, which are visible in natural light. Inspection under UV light shows scattered areas of retouching, including the lines of inpainting along the various repaired splits in the panel and a larger area of restoration in the lower right corner.
