This large antique basket is in near perfect condition. It has been well kept for decades. I have searched high and low trying to find this particular type of weaving. The top main handle has small dovetails at the bottom. A process which is not done today. The outside curls have been created from one continuous piece of flat feed and only has one place in the entire basket where one can see the beginning of the weaving. It's a complicated basket and will definitely last another 100 years if well taken care of. Splint Oak is all the rage.
