These tables are not signed but are the unmistakable design of Dorothy Thorpe.

The is the best set of mid century occasional tables I have had (I have the matching coffee table listed and it is equal in coolness to these.) The bases are made of Lucite with large cut-out circles and the round tops are glass which is removable by unscrewing the brass buttons. The brass compartment in the center holds a light bulb, one is green and emits a lovely lime green color, the other is blue and emits a vibrant blue color. I replaced one of the bulbs with a clear bulb and the equally interesting light effect is shown in the photos. There are switches on the cords to turn the light off without unplugging them. It looks like the wiring is all original and it is working fine.
