Description

Vintage mid 20th century large lidded pottery jar by Joel Edwards (1923 - 2007) California. Signed on bottom, speckled gray and brown satin glaze, speckled cream glazed interior. Well known Californian potter he studied at the Brooklyn Museum School in Brooklyn, New York and MFA Otis Art Institute (now Otis College of Art and Design) in Los Angeles, California. Edwards was a student of Peter Voulkos at Otis. He also studied under Marguerite Wildenhain and Soji Hamada. Excellent condition.
