Antique Late 19th Century Bradley & Hubbard Hand Painted Opaline Converted Oil Lamp
Beautiful antique circa 1892 Bradley & Hubbard oil lamp that was converted to electric.
The Bradley & Hubbard Manufacturing Company, founded in 1852 in Meriden, Connecticut, by Nathaniel Bradley, William Bradley, and Walter Hubbard, became a premier American manufacturer of high-quality lamps and metal goods. They were known for high-end, artistic, and often neoclassical, Art Nouveau, or filigree-overlay designs.
This Victorian parlor lamp features an Opaline glass globe with hand painted florals in yellow and green. It has the original chimney hurricane shade. The oil reservoir and base are ornate brass and are signed on the side "The B & H" and on the screw on lid "B & H." The light switch is located on the base and lamp works well.
